Great fun!
This is a great arrangement of Wellerman, with a neat little percussive element used a few times throughout (knocking on the piano, or if, like me, you have a digital piano without much "knock" to it, you can just slap your thigh or use an available pen or drumstick to create the rhythm.) Shanties are - by nature - very repetitive, and this arrangement does a really nice job in using the percussion, the dynamics, and the range of notes used to create aural interest in each repeat. Its also not overly long (unlike a few other versions available.) This one is fun to play, and once I have it up to speed, Im certain others will enjoy hearing it, too! I am a late intermediate/early advanced adult student of piano, and its taking some work to get it, but its do-able. Your mileage may vary!
