Brand New Day (Sting)
6/17/2015 7:40:12 PMThis song has some wonderful, lush jazz chords and riffs and is an absolute blast to play on the keyboard. The triplet (1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3) time signature of this song is hypnotic and the jazz chord variations on the main melody are fantastic. Anyone who really knows Stings music well realizes that he is a very accomplished & knowledgeable jazz musician (in addition to being a master of the "new wave" genre, and other modern music genres), and this song definitely showcases his impressive jazz knowledge. This is somewhat of a virtuoso show-off piece for keyboard players (similar to "Stepping Out", by Joe Jackson), and is a very rewarding piece to master; it sounds fantastic on a digital keyboard, with a digital bass sound.
