I needed this for an audition, and it is exactly like the original piece except for one measure, where the solo goes up and holds the mediant instead of tonic.

This beautiful arrangement by Aaron Copland of a standard hymn tune is wonderful to sing. Its one of my go to pieces for funerals. Very meaningful and lovely complement to any service.

Thank you! We needed this in a pinch and I so appreciate the large repetoire on this site!

I love this version of the old hymn, "Shall We Gather at the River" as interpreted by Aaron Copland. The complex harmony in the accompaniment adds to the beauty of the stately, yet gently, measured-flowing tempo. I gave less than "5" rating since I have heard an even more lush harmonic arrangement but havent been able to locate it.
