A Classic!
9/8/2012 4:31:00 PMThe melody in this arrangement doesnt match how Billie Holiday sang it, so I tweaked it a bit. Its written very straight-forward and I wanted to have the rhythms swing. The piano part is easy and the key is low to provide an authentic sound for the singers. I used it with an elementary choir with soloists on all parts except the repeating phrases "mama may have, papa may have, but God bless...". Its great to use for Black History Month or if you just want to sing a soulful jazz song.
