Empire State of Mind Part II
2/16/2010 4:41:29 PMThis is a very accurate transcription of the piano part for Alicia Keys Empire State of Mind Part II. I was originally surprised to see it transcribed in G-flat Major as I had figured it might be easier to read it as F# Major. They are enharmonically equivalent. So it really doesnt make a difference. Some pianists might forget the C-flats, but it really is easy to get used to once youve got the basic chord progressions. I prefer to double up the bass notes with octaves for a beefier sound especially if youre not playing with a bass player. Other than that, bravo to MusicNotes.com for making this available!
