A Piece of Sky

Most know of this song through the musical Yentl and the pipes of Barbra Streisand. However, Michael Crawford particularly does a wonderful arrangement for the male soloist that I would highly recommend if you are a fan of the musical/song. With the key I purchased, the range tops out at F#4 but shows off the low G#2 as well. It makes a wonderful audition piece for a baritenor singer who wants to show off a wide range at both ends!

Not for the faint of heart...

Excellent arrangement. If youre considering buying this (as a vocalist), youre probably already aware of the long high note at the end, which of course, should be belted, preferably with vibrato. Streisand held this note (high D5) for 19 seconds in the original. Thankfully, this arrangement calls the last 3 measures an "optional ending," and of course, it can be transposed. Those capable of the pulling off the full ending note well (especially in the original key) are to be commended.
