Great for Auditions

3/28/2008 9:33:24 PM

I used this to audition for a local theatrical production. It was great! It's an upbeat song with opportunity to really show off. Being younger, most of my competition pick songs from newer shows and my director really appreciated hearing something different. It was written perfectly for the use I wanted it for.

A cute song with relatively easy accompaniment

9/7/2008 2:02:40 PM

My vocal coach was able to practically sight-read this version of the accompaniment because it shows the chords, whereas the version he has sounds similar but is more difficult to play. I cannot speak to the actual difficulty of the arrangement, though, as I'm not a pianist and I'm sure it depends on key. Note that the "original key" for this sheet music is two keys higher than the film version of /Once Upon a Mattress/. This soprano had to transpose it *down* a key to fit comfortably in her belt range, but if you're Idina Menzel you might be able to go a key up, even. Maybe. Be aware that the entire second half of this song is omitted, starting with "A lady may be dripping with glamour" and ending with "I am one man...shy!" And as shown in the excerpt, the "Hey, nonny, nonny" beginning is gone, too. All it is is the first half of the song, repeated once. Also, in the original version, the note for "horribly" is held out, which is not so in this version. It was rather easy

too speedy

9/16/2008 3:41:32 PM

this song, though it claims to be the "long" version, is actually only about half of the song. it also, when played by the musicnotes player, goes incredibly fast in the middle and incredibly slow in the beginning. overall, not like the videos you find of this song on youtube. workable if you want to make it you're "own", but definitely not what i expected.

Doesnt Have Entire Song

6/15/2012 4:24:32 PM

I downloaded this for a class and was disappointed to find it wasnt the full song. It was actually missing the entire intro to the song as well as the full ending and midsection. Essentially it was just the verses and main chorus. Very disappointing. Overall I LOVE musicnotes.com, but since I cant preview the entire song before buying, I was pretty unhappy that it was missing about 1/3 the song. I ended up getting another copy from an anthology, but again, disappointing.
